Why is it good, alright, annoying or shit?:

Back to 2007 London based, no kids, my time was my own (apart from FT work) and I had a partner in surfing crime; the CSKINS suit served me well in all manner of weathers; hail in Praa Sands, rain in Gower Peninsula and beat neck breakers in Bude. The CSKINS kept me warm – couldn’t cope with the hood (as I suffer from claustrophobia in those things and you look like a gimp).

In 2009 this suit travelled to Bali where it stayed wrapped up, it travelled well and then became protection for a bun in the oven in Tasmania where the waters were cold and powerful.  At 5 months preggers I found lying on a lump in my stomach a bit weird but I was still able to jump about in the water and swim like a beached whale and CSKINS stretched with me to a point.

It’s now 2019 and my CSKINS suit is, much me back out ‘back’ – whopeeee. Peniche and Foz, Portugal this October and Fistral, Cornwall with Surfsistas in August. It has a few holes around the stomach seams – no surprises as to why, but it’s lasted and in a day and age of quick fashion and desperate need for change this suit means so much to me.

It reminds me of a life before children, a life where time was my own (yes I may cry thinking about these changes that on occasion have me texting ‘our children are *uck wits to my ever-fading partner in crime)…most importantly my CSKINS has let me remember ME, how to play, what I love and know that no matter what changes happen in life, surfing is still there, the ocean offers so much and life is still for living.

What would make it better (if anything)?:

Perhaps a repair kit supplied for when life changes happen.

Would you buy another when this one falls apart?:

YES…but I haven’t yet…
